I also run an nfs share on this machine, and that works fine. I restarted the smbd and nmbd services, and checked the status. I'm quite new to this so I don't really know how to debug anything. I have now disabled this VM while I try to figure this out, but still had no success. ![]() I believe this is the case because when I run smbtree from another Linux machine on the network it picks up the IP address of the nextcloud server, which is (or was) running on a VM on the Debian 10 server. I have a theory that samba conflicts with nextcloud. (Public share, no security - I don't care about that at the moment.) What is the minimum amount of stuff I need to put in the config to get something basic working. Part of the problem is that I don't know what I should put in my samba config file. I have been at this for a few days now and not been able to connect to it with any machine, either public or private share. I am attempting to deploy a samba share from a Debian 10 server, which I intend to use with both Windows, Mac OS X and other Debian 10 machines. ![]()
